LiveFit update, wedding recon and books!

by Chase on January 9, 2012

We got our first little dusting of snow here in the District so it FINALLY feels like Winter.  I didn’t mind the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been having but my sweaters were starting to feel lonely and unloved.  I happily broke out a turtleneck one for work today.

So, it’s Monday!  So that means it’s LiveFit update day!

So, Week 1 redo went well! I made this recipe which was awesome and a wonderful protein-packed treat.  I struggled a bit over the weekend because of eating out, but all in all, I give myself a B+ for following the program.

My biggest secret of success this week was buying a HUGE bag of pre-washed, pre-cut string beans.  Seeing that huge bag staring at me in the fridge every day was a big incentive to munch on them!  I’m almost done but I still have probably a half lb left.  Anything I can do that makes eating vegetables easier is good in my book.

Yesterday, after BODYATTACK practice with the girls (and guy!) Jeff and I went up to Baltimore to meet up with my sister / Maid of Honor to do some wedding recon.

I needed to check out the venue again and remind myself where stuff was so I can start to plan decorations and details.

I’ve always had a thing for seahorses ever since I was little and I had a book about a little girl who would ride on her rocking horse and it would turn into a seahorse and take her on underwater adventures.  I’m on the hunt for classy looking seahorse wedding invitations.  Everything I’ve found in my short search so far has been not quite what I’m looking for.  Any leads on wedding invites without breaking the bank?  Let me know.

Next stop was to check out a local restaurant for a potential rehearsal dinner site.  The private room looked perfect so fingers crossed it’s not already booked!

We had dinner at the restaurant and looooved the crab, spinach and artichoke dip.  So not LiveFit, but super tasty.

What’s on tap for this week?

At work, I’m gleefully turning in my budgets by Wednesday at 5pm, so I will be a very, very, very happy girl when it is all done.   No more budgets again until October! Yay!

At the gym, just another week of training hard and eating clean. Git up on that horse.

At home, I’m determined to finish How Did You Get This Number by Sloane Crosely.  I don’t know what my next book will be but Jeff’s reading Waiter Rant by Steve Dublanica which sounds awesome, especially since I spent a few years slinging wings & beers at a sports bar in college.  I’m sure I can relate to some of these waiter anecdotes.

Make it a great week!

For invites, I recommend two thing: wedding paper divas or finding a graphic designer online and the printing me locally. I am doing the latter.
