As I sit here writing this post recapping the weekend, it’s hard to realize that it’s Monday already. Except that I spent all day at work, so therefore it is definitely, DEFINITELY Monday.
This weekend, Jeff and I jetted across the bay to Rehoboth Beach, DE to my cousin Chris’ wedding.
Chris’ new wife, Julia, told us that she always wanted a Christmas wedding.
There were sparkles and poinsettias and snowflakes everywhere!
We had a WONDERFUL time with my family! It was like pre-Christmas Christmas! I think there should be more Christmas weddings in the world. And see that dress I’m wearing? Totally got it at a clothing swap with the girls a few weeks ago.
And dinner was delicious! I had the prime rib and Jeff had the mahi mahi. When I sent in the RSVP, I asked them to give Jeff a triple serving of mashed potatoes with his mahi mahi.
This picture doesn’t actually do it justice. That was a HUGE pile of mashed potatoes.
We headed home on Sunday after a quick stop at the outlets. I took a quick nap, refreshed myself and drove up to Baltimore to see my friend Bri and her husband Mike who were in town from California! I met them at Buffalo Wild Wings in Owings Mills to watch the Ravens game with them and a few of their friends. Bri and I became friends when we both lived in Towson/Cockeysville, but the warm weather summoned her to SoCal and a certain someone summoned me to Virginia.
I wish I had taken a picture of us but here’s a picture of just Bri & Mike looking gorgeous on their wedding day.
Anyway, Bri and I got to talking about BARRE classes! Have any of you guys tried a barre class? I’ve never tried one but apparently I am missing out big time. We’re talking legs-shaking, brow-sweating, limit-pushing ballet, pilates and yoga inspired classes. Remember when I was complaining a few weeks ago about wondering what was next in my fitness world? Well, the way she spoke of barre classes has me totally wanting to give it a try. Turns out there’s a studio in Georgetown which offers Xtend Barre classes weekly!
I’m totally in.
Anyway, changing subjects again, Week 2 LiveFit update time!
Yeah.
Total fail.
Can I get a do-over?
Too many parties and weddings.
And pignoli cookies. For any of you non-Italians out there, they are pronounced peen-yoll-ee. The “g” is silent. And they’re made basically of almond paste, sugar and toasted pine nuts.

And they’re heaven.
Oh! And Berger cookies.

A traditional Baltimore favorite since LONG before I was born. Equal parts chocolate and cookie.
These cookies are my TOTAL WEAKNESS. And I never buy them. Ever. Because I know better.
I can turn down cake. I can turn down ice cream. I can most certainly turn down fudge, blech.
But I can’t turn down pignoli cookies. Just the smell of them makes me feel like I’m at Grandma & Grandpa’s on Christmas Day. And Berger cookies? Oh man. You gotta try one.
Soooo, do-over, k?

One of my “to do’s” is to try Janet’s Barre class at Clarendon. I know she will kick my you-know-what. Good friend of mine works at the Barre 3 studio in G’town. Have yet to try it though.
Killer dress/necklace at that wedding btw. LiveFit is looking good on you!
Oh… I want to try too! Let’s make a field trip to…um… Clarendon?
You look gorgeous in that dress! Can I borrow it?
And I’m doing a complete do-over of LiveFit! I didn’t mean to sign up yet but I did and I’m recovering from surgery so there’s been NO exercise in my life. DO-OVERs all around!
Can you build a barre from the left over mashed potatoes???
I LOOOOVE berger cookies. Enjoy them!!
I love the xmas themed wedding. And you look hot in that dress girl!
What a beautiful wedding! LOVE her wedding dress
And you look great too
oh, I’ve always wanted to try Barre ever since I saw Kelly Ripa do a segment on her ballet-based workouts. I’ve done mat pilates at the gym and it’s definitely awesome but how is barre different? extra harder?
Barre workouts are an awesome blend of Pilates, yoga and ballet movements that give you a totally body workout. You take a standard Pilates exercise from the mat to standing, which adds a balance challenge and involves more muscles. With some barre classes you even get a cardio workout. Barre classes are much more challenging but you get better results!
Here are my reviews on my 2 favorite barre workouts:

Chase, you are the most awesome friend for driving up to see me this weekend!! I felt so loved and it was so wonderful seeing you! I miss you!
I can’t wait to hear what you think about Xtend Barre, hopefully you get a good instructor! Definitely check out the other barre classes and find which workout you like the best.
Yummm Berger cookies, love them! Wish I would’ve bought some this weekend. Probably good I didn’t though. . . . .
Pignoli nut cookies are my favorite! YUM!
I work right near Rehoboth
Hope you had fun at the outlets! With the Live fit program, are there any DVD’s you can buy? Or is it just an online program?
Yes! My bestie is the manager at the newly opened Barre3 in Georgetown. I’ll loop you into all the free classes they are supposed to be offering in the next few weeks!
