Life without Borders

by Chase on September 2, 2011 · 5 comments

(The title to this post sounds a lot more prophetic than it actually is, ha!)  It’s just that Borders is going out of business.

 005

I love a good deal so as soon as I got off work today at 3pm, I convinced Jeff that heading over to check out the sales at Borders was a good idea!

006

It did not take any arm-twisting.

This was actually his third trip to a Borders this week.

007

Does that say 70% off, kind sir?  Yes please.

008

Clearly I was a little behind the curve in getting to the sales!

011

We managed to get 22 books for about $110.  Killer!!

010

Many of Jeff’s picks were already on his wishlist.

009

Many of mine had the word “wedding” in the title.

Don’t judge.

What I took home:
Promises to Keep by Jane Green
Wedding Cake by Lynne Hinton
Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin  (how I have gotten this far in life and never read this is beyond
me)
It sucked and then I cried by Heather B. Armstrong
Official Book Club Selection by Kathy Griffin  (It was $2.40!)
Men and Dogs by Katie Crouch
The Wedding Writer by Susan Schneider
Apologize! Apologize! by Elizabeth Kelly
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
Biggest Loser Dessert Cookbook by Chef Devin Alexander
Your Best Body Now by Tosca Reno

Nine works of fiction, one cookbook and one healthy living book for $56.  Awesome!

Have you checked out the sales at a going-out-of-business Borders?  Any good finds?

I read the particular sadness of lemon cake. It was highly unusual and I would be interested to hear what you think about it!

You guys made out like bandits! Nice! I’m now the proud owner of Hello Kitty Monopoly, thanks to 60% off at Borders!

I’ve purchased several journals, a few books I really wanted, some Bibles and Christmas presents for church members. I’ve been at least once a week and keep going back. Even purchased my day planners for the next year.

I used to watch Devin Alexander’s show on TV. Interesting…like Hungry Girl.
