Thirty Books? And a GIVEAWAY!

by Chase on July 4, 2011 · 26 comments

Hello and Happy July 4th!

If you are particularly astute on this, the 235th anniversary of American independence from the British, you may notice that The CHASE Project has a bit of a different look today!  Not drastic, but just enough to give it a fresh appearance and (to get all nerdy and technical) it’s very own server.  Such a big day for my sweet little blog!

You may also notice that there’s a bunch of other links that you haven’t seen before.  Thirty Books?  What’s that?

Thirty Books was my sweet little(r) blog that I started in January 2010 as a chronicle of my attempts to read thirty books by my thirtieth birthday.  To put in a nutshell, I came close but not quite, I never read Years of Rice and Salt, and I stopped blogging on that site in December 2010.  BUT!  Now it is here, and the two blogs have become one, and now I can blog about books to my heart’s content!

Please do not fear for the future of this blog — It will still largely be a discussion of healthy living (I’ve already promised it won’t become a wedding blog) but the books I read and my thoughts thereof will get their own little home here as well.  I didn’t want to abandon my book blog entirely but since the “thirty books” challenge was over, I had to find a way to keep it rollin’.  And I didn’t feel like blogging on two platforms.

So, in honor of the combination of these two sweet blogs, I’m hosting my very first GIVEAWAY!

Yaay!

I’m going to be giving away three of my very favorite books on healthy living! (See how I did that?)

The winner of the giveaway will win a copy of The Eat Clean Diet

A copy of New Rules of Lifting for Women

and a copy of Carrots ‘N’ Cake !

How great is that!?

These are three of my favorite books which are a lot of my inspiration for healthy living.  What I eat, how I move and how I maintain balance are my healthy living trifecta.

You have three ways to enter and I’m sorry to say but the giveaway is only open to US and Canada residents.  Or if you live overseas REALLY want to enter, and just make friends with someone in the US or Canada, I can send it to them and you can pick it up the next time you’re visiting them!

Ways to enter:
1. Leave a comment here and tell me about your favorite book that I should be reading.
2. Follow me on Twitter (f you don’t already) and tweet about the entry: “I just entered @TheCHASEProject  ‘s healthy living book giveaway at http://www.thechaseproject.com/?p=4519
3. Follow The CHASE Project on Facebook and leave me a comment here that you followed over there.

You can enter each different way to give you up to 3 entries per person.  The entries close and a winner will be selected at random on Thursday, July 7th at 9pm EDT and will be announced in Friday’s post.

Happy Summer Reading!

“Fish! A Remarkable Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results.” It’s a book about the FISH philosophy and it’s a very positive read.

Oh gosh, I haven’t been reading much lately at all! (Just religious books like the Bible & Book of Mormon- of course I think everyone should read those ;)

I’ve been trying to eat & be healthier & would LOVE some books to give me some guidelines!

Ummmmmmmmm…my favorite books are “RN: The Memoirs of Richard Nixon” and “My Country Versus Me: The First-Hand Account By the Los Alamos Scientist Who Was Falsely Accused of Being a Spy” – so…um…read them, but maybe they aren’t on your list.

As far as health books go, The Secrets of Skinny Chicks. As far as chick lit goes, Shoe Addicts Anonymous. I love chick lit, and can definitely bring SAA to the gym if you ever wanna borrow it :)

Also liked you on FB and following you on twitter, tweeted your link :) <3

I loved ‘Best Freinds Forever. ‘ It’s a great summer read. If you’re thinking health, ‘Intuitive Eating’ (I’m betting you’ve already read it) is always good and always a good reminder.

Cheers

You can’t go wrong with ‘Best Freinds Forver.’ It’s a great summer read. If you’re thinking health, I’d go with ‘Intuitive Eating.’ If you’ve read it’s always good to reread.

Cheers

Like how the blog looks! Born to Run is a great running book. Also love the Hunger Games (not fitness/food related, just plain ol’ fiction!)

Love the new look. My favorite book ever in The Giver. I could read that book over and over again.

Another great read is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Long, but well worth it!

Aaah, I’m so excited for this giveaway. Choose me! choose me!

If you haven’t already, you should really read the Hunger Games trilogy. Yes, its young adult fiction, but its SO GOOD! Plus, the movie is coming out next spring. You’ll want to be in the know :)

Whoa, I just snuck this one in. What a great giveaway! My favorite book of all time is Song of Myself by Walt Whitman. It’s poetry, but so great. Recently, I’ve read (and loved) The Help, Room and some of the Sookie Stakehouse novels.
