Self Esteem tip! Reminisce about your accomplishments

by Chase on July 20, 2010

TODAY’S WORKOUT: 4 hilly miles, 37:33 (9:12) pace.  Lift biceps, triceps, deltoids.  Abductor toning exercises (I need more lateral strength in my life!)

(I know my pace because I used my Garmin 405 today for the first time. Woo hoo!  It’s a lot of fun.   It made my run so much more compartmentalized.  Normally I would just say that I just want to go for as long and as fast as possible.  But setting my mental goal (4 miles) and using the Garmin to make sure of my distance made it so much less stressful.  And at 6am, the less stress, the better!)

Anyway, on to the point of this blog post.  Self Esteem Tips!  Today’s tip is to Reminisce about your accomplishments that made you proud.  Look at what you’ve done!  And I emphasize “that made you proud.”  Not someone else, not your parents or your boss… what made YOU proud!

For me, every race I complete is an accomplishment, no matter how short.  I also take pride in the fact that I finished my CPCU (google it) earlier this year through my own diligence and hard work.  There were no professors telling me to study; I had to motivate myself on my own!

What have you done that you’re proud of?  Yell it out loud! (or leave a comment ;) )

[And here are some old race pics that make my heart smile :) ]

I got a 405. I got it for under $300 on Amazon, which I thought was a good price! I’m not even sure what the 405cx does!

Very cool! From what I understand, the 405cx will calc the calories burned where as the 405 only tells you your heart rate. Not sure if its worth spending extra $$ for that feature.

Well, I input my age/gender/weight in the watch and it gave me a calories burned figure when I completed the workout… not sure it’s 100% accurate but I’d be willing to say it’s pretty darn close!

I recently made my childhood favorite dessert. Since it’s a filippino dessert, it’s not something that I could easily buy. So after reading all the different recipes and realizing how easy (albeit time consuming) it was, I had to take the plunge and make them!
